Interested in playing Club Volleyball with Forest City Volleyball Club? Our club provides an opportunity for young athletes from elementary through high school age to develop their skills and passion in volleyball. Through instruction from qualified and experienced volunteer coaches, we offer competitive teams in age divisions from 12U to 18U the opportunity to compete regionally, provincially, and nationally.
All athletes must register to tryout. Re-signed FCVC athletes must also register and attend tryout sessions, unless other accommodations have been discussed with your Head Coach.

General Info
FCVC tryouts assess athletes to place them on a competitive team that matches each athlete’s skill level, enables each athlete’s growth in the sport, and enables each team and the club to succeed and reach the highest levels of the sport. Each tryout session is designed enable our coaches to evaluate each athlete’s basic volleyball skills, interactions with other athletes, and ability to follow instruction during drills and game situations. Final team selection placements is a collaborative process involving multiple FCVC coaches.
For parents/guardians:
- Complete the FCVC Tryout registration below PRIOR to attending your first tryout.
- Register as a Tryout Player on the Ontario Volleyball Association (OVA) MRS system, PRIOR to arriving at your first tryout (SEE BELOW, please read instructions carefully!). There is no charge to register as a Tryout Player.
- Watch for updates on the Tryout schedule posted on our website and on FCVC social media accounts.
For athletes:
- Please arrive 30 minutes prior to your first tryout session for Athlete Check-in. This helps ensure you are assigned a number and show up on the coaches' tryout roster for evaluation.
- Bring the following to tryouts:
- Appropriate court-wear (t-shirt, shorts/spandex, no tank tops or cut-off tops).
- Appropriate court-shoes.
- Knee pads, if needed.
- Water bottle.
Know your rights to the OVA Tryout Window Process!
The Athletes Bill of Rights was developed by the OVA to assist athletes and their families during the tryout process. We encourage you to review and gain an understanding about the process, the club’s responsibility to provide the athlete’s family with all information currently available about its program, and the responsibility of each athlete and family member to become educated about the program they are considering joining.

How to Register
STEP 1: Register for FCVC tryout
Note: if your athlete has re-signed with another club OR verbally committed to another club, you are not permitted to attend an FCVC tryout. This rule is outlined in the Ontario Volleyball Association's Tryout Window Policy and the athlete may be subject to a $500 fine by the OVA.
STEP 2: Complete the OVA MRS registration after Sept 1, 2025.
To tryout for a team/club that competes in the OVA, you must register on the OVA MRS system and register as an “Indoor Tryout Player”. This OVA registration is mandatory to sign off on Rowan's Law concussion educational documents, waiver of liability, and other required forms. Your safety and compliance are our top priorities.
- If you already have an account on the OVA MRS system, login into your account, click Update Membership, select "Indoor Tryout Player" and compete the registration.
- If you do not have an account on OVA MRS, create one and then complete the process as per below.
For Parents/Guardians: When creating your athlete's OVA MRS account, please ensure you use their name rather than your own when setting up your athlete's account. This ensures proper team/club registration and compliance with all required documentation.
Note: OVA MRS system will open for Indoor Volleyball season registration on September 1, 2025.
