The 18U Girls team got to engage in some high level competition and training over their March Break. It will be invaluable experience as they head into OVA Provincials next month.
Here’s what Dave, one of the team parent volunteers had to say about the trip:
The FC 18U Girls travelled to Kentucky over March Break to participate in the Ultra Ankle Bluegrass Tourney – one of the largest JVA events in the US, attracting nearly 1,000 participants from all age divisions. The team played very well against top US teams and continue to develop and learn just what it takes to compete at a high level.
The team and coaches Sean Pellow and Frank DelDonne then travelled to Nashville for a week of training and exhibition games against some top Tennessee teams. Once again the girls held their own, developed some good friends, as well as bonded as a team. Last stop before heading home was an Ohio tournament in Cleveland. The team played well and despite fatigue, illness and a few injuries, the girls showed stamina and terrific teamwork to get to the Bronze Final match.
It was a great trip; one the girls will remember for a lifetime.
